Is this the official New York State security guard exam?
No. This is an independent SSC study tool based on the nine curriculum areas in the NY 8-Hour Pre-Assignment manual. It is not a state or DCJS exam.
How does each practice test work?
Each fresh sitting selects 20 questions from a 200-question bank using a fixed curriculum balance. Both the question order and answer order are shuffled.
Can I see explanations and retry questions?
Yes. After the test, enter your email to reveal your score, topic breakdown, correct answers, and explanations. Verify the secure email link once to save the result, retry missed questions, and start fresh random sets from My Account.
Is the SSC practice account free?
Yes. The practice account is free. It also gives you one place to review tests and access SSC class booking.
Does completing this practice test count as required training?
No. Practice tests do not award training credit or certification. Book the SSC 8-Hour Pre-Assignment class to complete the required course with an approved school.
