This is the second required course for Security Guards called the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training course (OJT). The course must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard.
The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities as a security guard. Topics covered include:
- Legal powers and limitations,
- Emergency situations,
- Communications and public relations,
- Access control,
- Ethics and conduct,
- Arrest procedures,
- Public Relations,
- Report writing
- Incident command system, and terrorism.
An examination is required for successful completion of the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course.
New York State law also dictates that all Armored Car Guard’s must go through an application process which includes among other training 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training , 16 Hour On The Job Training Course and a background fingerprint check before they can be issued a New York State Security Guard’s License.
Students will be entitled to a 100% refund 24 hrs day before the training, you will not be refunded for non attendance or refund request on the day. You are free to schedule a new date to take a class at anytime by sending an email in the event that you missed the class. A DCJS approved security guard training school cannot assess any non-refundable registration fees, deposits, or cancellation fees.
