Choose the course that matches your stage. SSC provides live, instructor-led online New York security guard training through a NYS DCJS-approved security guard training school. These courses cover the required training path for unarmed guards; New York State controls the registration and licensing process.

Starting as a new unarmed applicant? Begin with the Online NYS 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course. It is the first required training course for most new unarmed applicants.

Recently employed as a security guard? Complete the 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course within 90 days of employment.

Already registered and staying current? Take the 8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course each calendar year while working as a security guard.

Need both initial courses? The 8-Hour + 16-Hour Online Training Bundle combines the two initial training courses in one booking route.
